Sleeping means I’ve lost
For me, sleeping always feel like… like I’m admitting defeat, somehow. During these long, dark hours, I get this strange notion that, as long as I’m here — awake — something could — might — still happen. Something nice. Or something bad; after a while it doesn’t matter anymore, since nothing could be worse than sleeping, right? Because once you close your eyes… well, that’s it: you’ve given up. You’ve abandoned everything.
Sleeping means that you’re willing to accept that yet another day has gone by without you actually accomplishing even the smallest of things.
Sleeping means you’ve lost.
